Ammi-Joan Paquette joined the
Erin Murphy Literary Agency in spring 2009 as an associate agent after working in the editorial area of educational software development. In her first year as an agent, she placed a dozen manuscripts with editors. She is also the author of the picture book The Tiptoe Guide to Tracking Fairies and other forthcoming projects, and is an EMLA client. Joan represents all forms of children's and young adult literature, but is most excited by a strong lyrical voice, tight plotting, and stories told with heart and humor.
Marietta Zacker has professionally experienced every aspect of children’s books for over 15 years, working with authors, illustrators, publishers, educators and readers. As an agent at
Nancy Galt Literary Agency, she is passionate about bringing those worlds together. She represents authors whose work make her pause, shiver or laugh out loud and illustrators who add a completely different dimension to the story being told. Marietta approaches her work with the knowledge that there are remarkable books of all genres, targeted to all ages, just waiting to be discovered. Aside from her work as an agent she is also the Book Curator at Sparkhouse, an independent toy & bookstore in South Orange, NJ.
Elena Mechlin joined the team of
Pippin Properties, Inc. in June of 2009. Having begun her publishing career in subsidiary
rights, moving on to children’s book marketing with a stint in audio,
she realized that a position in agenting would enable her to continue to
be involved in the many aspects of publishing about which she is so
passionate from one place. She is thrilled to be pursuing her love of
children’s literature and the industry from her seat at Pippin and
especially enjoys the treasure hunt that is sorting through the daily
query emails.
